Despite appearing Americanized and over commercialized, Cancun still maintains the tropical resort-like feel of a beach vacation. With an average temperature of 26 degrees Celsius and more than 3000 hours of sunshine a year, Cancun has one of the best climates of the Caribbean.

Most of the resorts are located on the beach and these resorts all have their own sections of beach, though once accessed you may walk as long as you like in any direction. These resorts often offer their guests use of palapas, towels, beach chairs and many have beach side grills and bars to accommodate guests. While beach erosion remains a constant issue for the beaches of Cancun, the Mexican government is working hard to maintain these beaches in an eco-friendly way.

The nightlife of Cancun is often the deciding factor for choosing Cancun as the vacation destination.
