Ixia

Return to the cradle of western civilization in Ixia, a modern resort on the ancient Greek island of Rhodes. Nestled near the capitol town, Ixia is a welcome respite from busy city life.

Start your own odyssey in Ixia from a coastline bungalow watching the sun rise through rosy-fingered dawn; stroll where lush green hills cascade to pebbled silver beaches before the Aegean sea.

Ixia is family-friendly but may be best suited to more mature visitors. Its shore is gorgeous, and prevailing winds render Ixia a paradise for windsurfers, but the splash and sand castle set might find the tide line too rocky and the surf a bit rough.

Palaces and Fabled Temples

Rhodes is deep in history. A short ride on a quaint mini train and you reach the Street of Knights and the Palace of the Grand Master in the magnificent medieval Old Town. No visit to this area of Greece would be complete, of course, without a pilgrimage to the Temple of Apollo and the Acropolis of Rhodes.

Return to your private bungalow, or sip exotic drinks while the children splash in the pool and the sunset over the hills of Turkey grows more spectacular every minute.

Water Sports, Shopping, Dining and Family Fun

When you wish, put your mind on idle- Ixia offers a nice mix of history and fun!

Most hotels boast wonderful pools. Ixia's windsurfing is world-renowned. Pedalos are plentiful and the diving is as good as it gets off Rhodes. Hire a hydrofoil from a nearby harbor and in under an hour you can glide to Turkey. Europe's largest water park is just a short ride away in Faliraki.

When you are ready, towel off and hit the shops, taverns, and sample the fare from dozens of restaurants featuring fresh, bountiful local fare.
